Egypt Ferry Project
Version 1.0
The use of the website, application, booking services, and ferry services provided by ATK River Transport under the Egypt Ferry project is subject to these terms and policies. The use of any of the services or completion of a booking constitutes acceptance of all provisions contained in this document.
First: Account Creation and Use of Services
The Company may request the information necessary to complete a booking or create an account, including the name, email address, telephone number, nationality, national ID or passport number, date of birth, or any other information required by Egyptian laws or security and safety requirements. The user is required to provide accurate information and update it when necessary.
The user shall not misuse the website, application, or booking systems. This includes hacking the systems, using automated software, copying content, reselling tickets without authorization, using another person’s data, or disrupting the booking systems. The Company reserves the right to suspend or cancel an account if any violation is established.
Second: Booking and Payment
Bookings shall be made through the official authorized channels. To complete a booking, the user must enter accurate information, select the trip, accept the terms and conditions, and pay the ticket price. A booking shall not be considered confirmed until a confirmation message and electronic ticket have been issued.
Following successful payment, the Company shall issue an electronic ticket, booking reference number, QR Code, and an invoice or electronic payment receipt, where applicable. These documents must be retained until the end of the trip.
The Company determines ticket prices according to the type of trip, season, booking time, and available offers. Prices may be changed before the booking is completed without affecting confirmed bookings.
All payments shall be processed through authorized payment service providers. The Company does not retain sensitive bank card information on its systems. The Company may verify the customer’s identity or request additional documents when necessary. It may also suspend or reject any transaction in cases of suspected fraud or incomplete payment procedures.
Third: Cancellation and Refunds
Passengers may request the cancellation or modification of a booking through the official authorized channels, subject to seat availability, fare differences, and applicable administrative fees.
The Company determines cancellation deadlines, refund percentages, and administrative fees as announced at the time of booking. Eligible refunds shall be returned to the original payment method whenever possible or through any other lawful method agreed upon.
If the Company cancels a trip or makes a material change to its schedule due to operational, technical, security, or circumstances beyond its control, the customer may rebook another trip subject to availability, retain the ticket value as a credit for future use, or receive a refund in accordance with the Cancellation and Refund Policy.
In cases of force majeure, adverse weather conditions, closure of the navigation route, government decisions, natural disasters, security disturbances, or pandemics, the Company shall make reasonable efforts to reschedule trips or provide suitable alternatives, while taking into account customers’ rights under applicable laws.
Fourth: Conditions of Carriage
The issuance of a ticket and payment of its value constitute the passenger’s acceptance of the Conditions of Carriage. The ticket is valid only for the trip, date, and time specified on it and must be presented upon request.
The passenger must arrive at the departure point within the period specified by the Company before departure. The Company may refuse boarding to any passenger who arrives late or whose information or identity cannot be verified if this affects operational safety or the proper operation of the trip.
Passengers shall:
- Comply with the instructions of the ferry crew and safety procedures.
- Respect the rules and maintain the ferry’s facilities.
- Not endanger the safety of passengers or crew.
- Refrain from any inappropriate behavior or conduct that violates public order.
The Company may refuse boarding or disembark a passenger who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, carries prohibited materials, poses a threat to others, or refuses to comply with crew instructions.
Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the trip. Within its operational capabilities, the Company shall provide appropriate facilities for persons with Special Needs and elderly passengers, while taking safety requirements into consideration.
Fifth: Baggage
Baggage is subject to the Company’s Baggage Policy. Passengers must comply with the permitted baggage limits and must not carry dangerous, prohibited, flammable, or legally restricted materials.
The Company or the competent authorities may inspect baggage using appropriate security procedures. Refusal to undergo inspection may constitute grounds for refusing to carry the baggage or for denying the passenger boarding where required for security and safety purposes.
Strollers and wheelchairs may be carried in accordance with the Company’s operational procedures, provided that they do not affect safety or obstruct passenger movement.
Sixth: Code of Conduct
All passengers must respect other passengers and crew members, comply with Egyptian laws and safety instructions, maintain cleanliness and public facilities, cooperate with Company employees, and give priority to elderly persons and persons with Special Needs when necessary.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children throughout the trip. Passengers may take photographs for personal use, provided that this does not violate the privacy of others, affect operational safety, or involve photographing restricted areas. Instructions issued by the ferry captain and operating crew concerning safety, security, and trip management are binding on all passengers.
Seventh: Privacy
The Company is committed to protecting the privacy of users of the Egypt Ferry platform. The Company may collect the information necessary to provide its services, including identification, contact, booking, payment, and technical data.
The Company implements appropriate technical and administrative measures to protect personal data. Cookies may also be used to improve website performance and user experience, and users may manage their cookie settings through their internet browser.
Eighth: Complaints and Dispute Resolution
Customers may submit complaints through the official authorized channels and provide the necessary information and supporting documents, if any.
The Company shall register complaints, review them, refer them to the relevant department, and notify the complainant of the outcome in accordance with its customer service procedures.
Ninth: General Provisions
All intellectual property rights relating to the website, application, trademarks, logos, designs, images, texts, software, and databases are owned by the Company or its licensed entities. Their use or republication without prior written approval is prohibited.
This document shall be governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The competent Egyptian courts shall have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from this document unless another lawful dispute resolution method is agreed upon.
